The Language of Flowers
by Vanessa Diffenbaugh
The story starts with a girl navigating life after aging out of the foster care system. The first half of this book made me think I would love the whole thing. I raved about it! Alas. I had to drag my eyes through the last half. Everyone takes care of her, even though she has only one redeemable quality: flower arranging. After she gets pregnant I felt like it became so boring. She struggles as a new mother but has a way to help that she doesn't take. Eventually her foster mother and lover forgive her, no questions asked. Relationships are sloppier than this. It was too clean and unrealistic.
