I received this through Edelweiss as an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Rachel has dreams to debut as a K-Pop star. Her family moved from NYC to Korea to help her realize her dream. After several years of training and not being supported by her mother, Rachel knows she is running out of time...especially because her mom just gave her a deadline. When Rachel has a terrible audition to sing with a star K-Pop guy, she is determined to prove that it really should be them singing together. As Rachel finds her opportunity through this guy, she finds that she is falling for him.

This novel covered important issues related to gender roles in the k-pop world and did it realistically. I liked the scenes between Rachel, her sister, and Jason, the romantic interest. These were the best parts of the book. The ending did leave much to be desired, especially because I didn't realize there was going to be a sequel. This book needs a follow up, I just wish it could have been more self-contained.
