It’s very hard to write a first-person narrative from a narrator who you are to an extent meant to not like, and I think this book manages it - just. The character of Dorothy is less a relatable villain, more a keep going out of morbid curiosity. The prose is a bit repetitive at time, but I believe intentionally to drive home the narrator being a bragging narcissist. I found the book to be a bit slow paced, with the interesting interspaced with sometimes mundane information. But that being said, despite its subject matter the book has a good lighthearted, dark humour about it which makes it an enjoyable standalone read. And we will always love a ‘women supporting women’s wrongs’ vibe!
