Where got good review, lah?
There's so much crammed into this not-very-long novel.

Good plot, good fantasy aspects, a very credible lead characters, but most of all I liked all the Manglish details*, the variable names people use for each other, the ties of duty and family, and more.

* although after years of reading New York authors, it was odd to see "... enough already!"

Jess wasn't super-capable all among. The bad guys weren't entirely bad. Just enough action. Character development. Comments on society, but never directly as lectures.

Thoroughly enjoyable.
