Tropes:
Mystery/Heist
Indigenous culture and language
Strong FMC
Family dynamics
Romantic subplot
Single POV
This story moved a lot slower in the beginning but once things started rolling it went full throttle. I really appreciate the attention to detail about the history behind these stories. The atrocities that the Indigenous people have lived through should never be written off for mere entertainment, which is why it's so important to read stories like these from the people who were directly impacted.
Overall, this was another great mystery by Angeline Boulley. I highly recommend for anyone who loves mystery and heists. This is rightfully age appropriate for young adults. I would still recommend reading trigger and content warnings before starting.
