Hand necklace on the cover? Say less.

“The way I feel about you, Brinley, a word as simple as love isn’t enough. You’re the blood in my veins.” I whimper into his lips with his words. “You’re the one I would sacrifice everything for.” His lips meet my temple. “You’re my need to survive.”

This was my first Paisley Hope book, and honestly? I requested this because of the cover. I’m a sucker for that pin-up art style, and the fact that he’s giving her a hand necklace went straight to my happy place. Yes, I know... I should probably see a psychologist about that.

Anyway. I went in with zero expectations. I was kinda hoping for an alpha male who’s possessive, jealous, and takes “touch her and die” way too seriously. And... that’s exactly what I got. With a whole lot of smut! LIKE A LOT OF SMUT!

𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙨:
We follow Brinley Rose Beaumont, who’s just broken up with her boyfriend and lost her interior design job. So, like anyone would, she heads back to her family home to lick her wounds. With her parents gone, it’s all she’s got left. While she’s there, she runs into her best friend from high school (the peanut butter to her jelly) and ends up roped into attending her wedding. A wedding she originally declined because her ex couldn’t make it. The catch? Her BFF is marrying the sergeant-at-arms of a motorcycle club. So now, Miss Goody Two-Shoes is exposed to the MC world... and the club president himself: Gabriel Wolfe... AND No, he’s not a shifter, Wolfe is just his surname. And when he lays eyes on our little hummingbird, he wants to devour her... in every way.

𝙏𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙁𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨:
Brinley’s character is pretty stereotypical in that she is sheltered, naive, and innocent. But like the transformation of the leather-clad "Sandra Dee", Brinley gets corrupted into club life. And as she falls deeper for Wolfe, her morals slowly go flying out the window. She begins reshaping her beliefs to fit this new world, the one where being an “old lady” means loyalty, grit, and a whole lot of chaos. She does show some fire once she gets into the swing of it, and Wolfe helps groom that edge. He teaches her how to fight and stand up for herself. She learns to thrive on the thrill, the hunt, and the rawness of their relationship. It's primal. It's explosive... and it's fucking sexy!

Wolfe is exactly the MC president stereotype you imagine when you think of the type of man who would be a MC President. He is controlling, grumpy, dangerous, and hot as sin. And, honestly, I wasn’t mad about it. He oozes power and sex and I LOVED IT!

So here’s the thing... the sex is kind of the plot. There’s a very loose background storyline, but the majority of the book is them screwing on every available surface while Wolfe grunts, growls, and marks his territory (the territory being Brinley). If you’re looking for something deep or emotional, this isn’t that. But if you want something sexy and toe-curling that’ll get your blood pumping? You’re in the right place. It’s dirty, it’s intense, and it taps into the primal, vicious fantasy a lot of us secretly want to live out.

I wouldn’t say the relationship had tons of emotional chemistry as it was heavily skewed to the physical. They’re insatiably attracted to each other, but that often overshadows the emotional build. Still, Brinley gets to live out a fantasy that’s raw and wild, and you know what? I was here for it.

It also helped that it was like a glorious grocery list of all the kinks I love reading about. We had Blood play, Knife play, Primal Play and BONDAGE!
