The Lost City of the Monkey God by Douglas Preston

4.0

I found this to be a really interesting and informative read. I know literally nothing about Honduras but this really makes me want to learn more about their long and complicated history.

It was honestly really impressive to read about all the things that went wrong before the expedition could even begin and then how all the party dealed with the jungle. I was honestly pretty impressed with the ages of said party members but also at 21 most people seem older than they actually are.

Mad respect for Preston, Chris, and all the others who were willing to go back into the jungle after dealing with the disease that they caught there. That takes a specific kind of strength and bravery.
