The Right Kind of Trouble by Christina C. Jones
5.0

Note to self: Don’t start reading a Christina Jones book when you have things that need to get done, cause it ain’t gonna happen! I started reading this book and didn’t want to put it down!!! It was just that good!

I really liked Lauren after meeting her in The Trouble With Us. At that time, I hoped that she and Mekhi would work things out and get back together, and at times, I kinda felt that way in this book. But Ty was such good people, and as the story progressed, I knew he was just the man that Lauren needed. And vice versa.

Harper was THEE most adorable little girl E V E R! When she was telling Lauren about Puppy pissing on the furniture, I just about lost it! I absolutely loved how Lauren and Mekhi’s parents supported them, so that they could do pursue their goals, which benefits Harper in the long run. And how Lauren and Mekhi worked together for the good of Harper. If only we could see more of this kind of cooperation and support in real life. Loved that whole fight between Lauren and Mekhi’s mom. So authentic. I would have done the exact same thing. Even though it was crazy as hell, lol.

I’m sure I wasn’t supposed to like Jamila and Ty’s mama, but they were a hoot!!! Talking ‘bout delusional! LMAO! I liked that Lauren wasn’t afraid of them, and that Ty was upfront with her about what was going on with those two. In the scene where Jamila confronts Lauren the first time, I was pleasantly surprised that the author didn’t go with the typical scene where the unsuspecting new girlfriend is unaware of what’s going on, especially since the readers didn’t know that Ty had talked to Lauren about the Jamila situation. This is one of the things that I really enjoy about CCJ’s novels; she doesn’t go with the usual, but goes outside of the box with her characters, their situations, and their reactions to things. Keep that up, please!

Sooo much cuteness in this story! Ty and Lauren’s first two meetings. Harper meeting Ty’s mom. Mina and Austin (and Dallas, LMAO). Ty and Harper.

Another good one from Mrs. Jones. Keep ‘em coming!
