I read this book for the first pick of Chloe Reads Books book club called: Chloe’s Crime Scene Corner. I have given Killing for Company: The Case of Dennis Nilsen by Brian Master three out of five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Graphic trigger warnings: death, gore, physical abuse, sexual content, attempted suicide, murder and violence

I read this book as the first book pick for Chloe’s book club, called Chloe’s Crime Scene Corner. 

This was a very disturbing book about serial killer, Dennis Nilsen, filled with graphic, detailed murders he committed. Despite this book being not for the fainthearted, I found it interesting to learn about Dennis Nilsen’s past and how he grew up as well as the court case and crimes. I found this book to be very interesting and of course graphically disturbing at times (which was to be expected given the true crime events that occur).

In my opinion, the best part of this book was reading about the (almost) victims accounts in the court case; these accounts will stay with me for a long time. I had goose bumps running up and down my body thinking about how close these people were to becoming a victim of a serial killer. Unfortunately I didn’t think much of Brian Masters writing, there were lots of repetition used for parts of the book which I thought wasn’t necessary. I ended up skimming the chapters two and ten due to the repetition and the way it was written just wasn’t gripping and I found it difficult to keep my attention focused on the book specifically during those chapters.
