Historical fiction plus dragons? Yes please!
I loved learning about the dragons, and I'm a sucker for dragons that bond to their humans right away. The lore about different types of dragons and where they come from is great, as is the section at the end of the book with excerpts from a fictional scientific text about dragon species.
I wasn't as into the combat scenes, though that is mainly due to personal preference.
