Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling

A second reading with the kids. It's been a long read and it feels good that we're done. It also feels too bad. Whatever we decide to read next will like feel paltry in scope.

The Deathly Hallows is great but it isn't my favorite in the series. I find myself missing the clearly marked passage of time the school year affords in the first six books. It feels like there's a long, long stretch in the middle where little happens directly to our heroes.

But there's probably not a segment of the whole series that's as exhilarating as the final hundred pages or so of this. Man oh man.
