I'm a violinist. Music is my passion and my joy.
Given that I also like history, I am very interested in musical history. So I thought this book would be a perfect combination of the two. While it was informative and interesting, I found his writing style dull and dry and almost impossible to read.
I would recommend reading this book in sections when you wish to learn about a certain time period, rather than reading it all at once.
