Love at First Write by Jae

3.0

I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

If you follow my reviews, then you know how much of a big Jae fan I am. You really can't go wrong with reading any of her works.

This is a collection of four short stories with all of the main characters being a writer. It's very light heartening read and I finished in one or two hours with interruptions. I think it's a great introduction to Jae's writing if you are not familiar. The first and last stories are my favorite and both happen to be longer than the two in between.

I think the weakest story out of all four is Sex Sells, because it's so short and feel incomplete. I also don't feel much connection with either of the main characters involved in the story. That's the biggest challenge with short stories and I didn't think Jae pulled it off well with this one. I still enjoyed it but quickly forgotten about it and move on to the next story.

Overall, it's a good read but nothing special. Good for those days where you want to read something quick and easy.
