Kometen kommer by Tove Jansson
It’s amazing to me how quickly Tove came into her own and found her footing with the Moomin world (a major jump from the previous book). Clearly written from a child POV, not in any way simplified but the way a child would want to be special/gain attention, keep secrets only shared with the trusted few, or believe their parents can set any wrong right again (even a natural disaster). There’s also enough irony and humour to entertain the adult reader.
