atarnus 's review for:
Felix and the Prince
by Lucy Lennox
This is my first Lucy Lennox book and I enjoyed it. It was pretty long but entertaining enough not to feel like it dragged. I especially enjoyed they earlier parts that were more humorous, silly even.
While I can somewhat understand how extremely hard it would be to come out as a royal, I still don't get how is it now even harder not to? And who else is going to break the stuffed traditions if not the royals themselves? Whose permission are they waiting for? You do the changes for yourself and for your younger generations.
Anyway, I always like artists and nerds, and Felix is both, awkward and adorable, and brilliant. The Glassblowing setting is just great and probably a major thing setting this book apart from so many basic contemporary romances. And I enjoy my fairytales. I do rather like the clever peasants more than the royals but with my love of fantasy, fairytales and illicit romances, I end up with a prince story quite often actually, can't seem to escape them.
This is a funny, steamy and sweet romance and while I suspect I might not enjoy all of the author's books as much as this one with a castle filled with glass art and secret passages, I'm definitely trying another one.
