dang how does this book make me cry every single time.

8.9.18 (?)
i saw a little girl, her eyes tightly closed, holding to her breast the old kind world, one that she knew in her heart could not remain, and she was holding it and pleading, never to let her go.

This is almost a normal book. Almost. This is a story of love and friendship and growing up and all that stuff. But the power of this book comes from what lies beneath, the constant feeling that something isn't quite right. And then there are the moments, when all is revealed and it hits you. This book made me cry the hardest I've ever cried since seventh grade.

This book, to me, shows what it means to be human. We all live in an indifferent world - but is there another world beyond this one that we can imagine? And hold onto?

Never, never let me go.
