This book really should be 4 stars for the world and character building that the Author does. However due to the spoilers I will put below I can't give it more than 3.5 and since we can only give full stars it gets a 3. I have heard many good things about this Author and the trilogy but for now at least I will not be continuing with the next two books.

My rating was affected by the fact that a pet dies, that the ending is really more told to us as if to wrap it up quickly than for us to read as well as the fact that I really wanted a happy ending or at least an ending where the bad goes away/is punished for what they did and I did not feel this was the case.
