Amazonia by James Rollins

This one was a bit of a struggle for me. The idea's behind the story are fascinating and this kind of thing is normally right up my ally. But it just couldn't keep my attention. I kept asking myself what was missing. I think one answer may be subtlety. At times, the language that the Author uses is so overly dramatic that it's no longer dramatic at all. In other words, cheesy. I also have a problem with profanity. I find it very distracting. I can understand a certain amount, for the sake of realism, but there was more here than was strictly necessary. All in all, I was able to find enough to like about the book to keep me reading. I think I'll give Mr. Rollins one more chance.
