This book really isn't what I expected and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. I enjoyed reading it. The end was dark and I'm still not sure what to make of it but it definitely is different.
Graphic: Child abuse, Domestic abuse, Death of parent, Gore, Injury/Injury detail, Pedophilia, Violence, Toxic relationship, and Murder
Moderate: Body horror, Grief, Panic attacks/disorders, Rape, Sexual violence, Alcohol, Child death, Death, Emotional abuse, Gaslighting, and Incest
Minor: Infidelity
There's a strong theme of children being sexually abused in this book and the trauma haunting them into adulthood. The book ends with the protagonist mutilating and murdering her husband because she suspects him of abusing her daughter, although it's ambiguous whether that's true or of the protagonist has gone crazy and paranoid. It's also revealed that she killed her brother as kids to "protect' him from their father's abuse. She states that she will protect her own children no matter what, alluding that she would rather kill them than let them be sexually abused. It's a weird time. I think she's probably just gone crazy.<\spoiler>
