Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie
4.0

It's been a long while since I've read Peter Pan, but it's the first time I've read it aloud -- and, I was particularly struck by how much this story is meant to be read aloud or shared on stage. Truly remarkable.

But, mostly, it's the perfect example of why I always advocate for re-reading books over time. Every time I read Peter Pan, I feel differently about it. And, especially now, reading it out loud to my 6-month old daughters after feedings, I'm reading it for the first time from the perspective as a mom. The older I get, the sadder the story makes me; but, there were a few scenes on this reading which actually made me cry for the first time. What a wonderful example of how stories and literature change with us as we also grow and change.
