Difficult to rate because I surprisingly enjoyed this book at first. It's dark, like a modern-day Grimm Brothers fairytale, but the romance and pacing were so off.

Literally why did they like each other? All Imogen talked about was Theo's "flat stomach", "coiffed hair", and "solid torso" every single time she described him. (I hate when authors have to promise their characters are hot. Like just make them hot if that's so integral to your story.)

I need the author to learn about story beats like I'm sorry but please.

Weird logic?? Imogen would get hurt and then the injury would be put aside for sexytimes (girl you're BLEEDING), or she would randomly find her way through a strange palace to Theo's bedroom with no instruction? Maybe it was because the story couldn't hold my attention but I found myself not following along easily.
