The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo

4.0

Edward Tulane, a rabbit made of fine china, belonged to a young girl named Abilene Tulane. While Abilene loved Edward dearly, the rabbit was too self-absorbed and narcissistic to care about anyone else. When Abilene took Edward on an ocean voyage, he was lost to sea. From there, Edward went on a journey: rescued from the water by a fisherman, picked out from a garbage dump by a hobo and his dog, hung up as a scarecrow, given to a young girl who was dying, used in a busking routine, brutally damaged, restored, and--finally--filled with hope and love.

A lovely and heartwarming story about love and hope. A great choice for reading aloud to the whole family.
