The message that all women share a common sisterhood in their oppression perpetuates white bourgeois feminism. It acknowledges colonialism but doesn’t engage with it deeply, ending up giving the impression that settlement of the West was a good thing. I enjoyed the storytelling and writing, but couldn’t get past the themes.
Graphic: Domestic abuse, Gun violence, Racial slurs, Racism, Fire/Fire injury, Colonisation
Minor: Suicidal thoughts
