A Rivalry of Hearts by Tessonja Odette
- Loveable characters? Yes
4.25
If you are in need of a diverting series, look no further than the Fae Flings and Corset Strings historical romantasy series by Tessonja Odette.
In the first book, A Rivalry of Hearts, romance author Edwina Danforth travels to a fae island for her first book tour, only to discover that she is no longer touring alone.
Fae actor and poet William Haywood is also on the tour.
Not only has her tour been hijacked, but she and William are competing for the same contract with the publisher—a contract that would change both their lives.
A drunkenly-made fae bargain changes the terms of the competition. Instead of the author with the most sales landing the contract, the one with the most romantic liaisons by the end of the tour will win.
There’s a hitch, though. It appears these two rivals are more attracted to each other than to anyone else.
The banter and teasing are delightful in this one; their chemistry is palpable; and their *ahem* scenes together are delicious.
This one is a lovely combination of humor, tenderness, vulnerability, and steam.
The audiobook narrated by Rusty Mewha and Dani Cochrane is a fun way to immerse yourself in this story.
