This is a character driven love story, both platonic and romantic, and a story of finding oneself after running away. 

Somers, NY is a small town where everyone knows everyone’s name. It is also the resting place of Bet, the first elephant to come to America. 🐘

The pacing is fairly slow to start - the first half, I kinda wondered where we were going, but then, past and present collide and I ended up falling in love. 

Quaint diners, ponds with rowboats at ends of docks, lazy summer days spent exploring.. the town of Somers grew on me as much as Freya, Aubrey, and Jam did. 

…and, I have another reason to visit someday as that’s where @bookish_boy.mom lives 👀💞
