Freedom Is a Constant Struggle: Ferguson, Palestine, and the Foundations of a Movement by Angela Y. Davis

challenging informative medium-paced

4.0

This book would be five stars but I am subtracting a star because I wasn't very fond of the interview chapters at the beginning (you're literally interviewing thee Angela Davis, come prepared with better questions!!). I wish that instead of the interview segment, the book was opened with some preliminary context to the topics explored in the book. This book definitely is not for beginners to the abolition, black liberation and free Palestine movements. Although her speeches are fascinating and moving, I did have to research some of the topics discussed independently and I am glad I went in with some prior knowledge. Otherwise I really enjoyed this book and I am so, so grateful to live in a world where Angela Davis exists.
