Rendezvous with Rama by Arthur C. Clarke

3.0

I liked it overall.
Described to me once as one of those sci-fi books where character development doesn't get much love.
But I actually thought it was fine? Like I can definitely see why that is a criticism, because the character's don't get detailed overly much, but i kind of
Well now that I'm typing this out i guess the secondary characters were kind of carton cut-outs maybe
But still, … doesn't feel half as bad as the other ones. (the misoginy is annoying and cringe, of course)
I'm not explaining it well because I legitimately do not know why i didn't have a problem, felt Norton was not one-dimensional at all. (not 3d either, granted)
The sci-fi is very concise and neat.
I will say, and this is 100% a skill issue on my part, but i struggle with picturing the 'scene' so to speak, but oh well.
Oh yeah, the atmosphere setting was juuust right. Rama is actually just as mysterious in the end as it was in the beginning, and for some reason i find that not as annoying as i would have normally, maybe the sequels yap on about it some more, but i dont think i will read them.
The biots, the goals, the actual information that will be deduced from all of the crew's gatherings, these are all mysteries that are basically not answered at all (except for the temporary Committee suggestions)

Also loved the beat by beat progression of consequences of the physical environment changing.

In short, I described this novel as 'good and chill' :)
