Excellent Japanese mythology inspired Urban Fantasy, set in the San Francisco Bay Area that takes a somewhat broken FMC trying to start a new life far from home. Emiko Soong was the Butcher of Beijing where she worked for her father, the head of one of the eight dragon clans.
The pacing is a bit inconsistent, but overall I really enjoyed this and will recommend it to fans of UF. I will absolutely be buying and reading more in this series.
