character work done right. we follow them through their whole adult lives, see their growth and  development as they grow into full-fledged adults. David Nichols builds his characters skillfully annd thoroughly and lets their poignant relationship with each other happen as it will. compelling and emotional, slow burning, although anything but a drag to read.
