Grave Dance by Kalayna Price

4.0

Living up to the promise of its predecessor, Grave Dance was a gripping and compelling read.

The world building continues to be impressive, with the rules for magic carefully laid out and best of all making sense. Nothing quite rips you out of a story the way nonsensical detail can, but Alex Craft's world is carefully drawn and interesting to boot. We are considerably more exposed to Faerie in this book, a beautiful yet terrifying place that is vividly described as Alex grapples with her newfound identity.

And a word or two on the love triangle - it's nice to see two very different yet equally appealing suitors, both of whom come with a fair amount of baggage. Alex is a lucky girl, although maybe she warrants our sympathy as I certainly couldn't bring myself to choose!

Urban fantasy done well - huzzah!
