It Takes a Thief to Start a Fire by Rob J. Hayes

4.0

I picked this one up on kindle after I finished the first in the series on audiobook. I have no idea if this series will keep going beyond this one, but I really hope so as it's one of those series where I just find the characters, and the adventures they have, fun.

We're once more following Jacques and Isabel as they are in a new city, trying to make a living as professional thieves. They have a big job planned, and they know once they've done it they will be well-off and happy (at least for a while). However, despite meticulous planning and top execution, someone else has got to the prize ahead of them...and that can only mean trouble.

What I like about this series is that the setting is steampunk, and airships and magic go hand in hand with the adventures. We see silly characters at the forefront of the story, each of them has their own quirks, and they entertain us with their quips and humour.

Jacques and Isabel are great, and in this one they meet some other characters who are quite a lot of fun too. We get to see they working with others, and this is something new, and I enjoyed that.

Overall it's a fun series and filled with small giggles. I would certainly recommend it for some light fantasy reading, and I would definitely read more from this world and these characters. 4*s
