The Bee Sting by Paul Murray

2.0

truly did not enjoy this one. i was thinking about DNFing it multiple times throughout, but thought that it might get better. there was so much buildup and set up and character building that i thought it had to have paid off in the end. it didn't whatsoever. nothing really happens, the characters are extremely unlikeable and never have any sort of redemption, it's six hundred pages of nonsense. the only reason it's not a one star is because some of the writing was good, but not enough to salvage it by any means. it was mostly boring. poorly paced. a pointless story. really unfortunate because i desperately wanted to love this story.
