A Girl Like You by Cari Scribner

3.0

Jessica Gabriel is a twice divorced fifty-something mom of two (adult children) who seems to desperately be afraid of being alone. When she enters the world of online dating, things begin to get steamy…and also a little weird. From the pot head to the more dominant sexually adventurous clothespin addict, Jessica tries time and again to find love, or at least a new part of herself in the process.

Ok let me start by saying I put this off way too many times and it took me longer than usual to get through. I don’t know why, because I definitely liked it, it just didn’t always ‘hook’ me into having to finish it right away. And then I would get distracted by another book and set this one down to come back to. BUT I definitely always came back to it. And the last 3/4 got super graphic steamy so be warned!

Overall, I loved Jessica’s relationship with her kids, and she seemed like such a likable person. I’d say she sometimes came off way too needy and dependent on these newly formed relationships from online dating, and I wanted to shake her out of her crazy sometimes! But the story flowed well, and the short chapters made it easy to pick up where I left off.

3/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️ and thank you to the author for a gifted copy for my review.
