One of the best examples of a dystopian society that I came across till now. It was horrific. It was also very original (for me). The story line was very good, it was gripping and the final chapter is the most interesting.
I just found one problem with this book - the romantic relationship or even just the relationship between Watson and Julia seemed very badly portrayed and seemed very hollow. I say this because the intensity of the climax and the impact it creates on the readers depends very much on how well their relationship is perceived.
This book has created history and now I know how several words (related to/ mentioned in book) came into being - 'doublethink' being my favorite. 'Big Brother is watching you'.
