All the characters are one dimensional "gamers" and the plot is all over the place. More references than actual writing and just not engaging for me. Look, I like video games but this was just too much. If you want to feel bad about a strange father/son abandonment story with absolutely no core character development then this'll do it.

why even mention Polybius (or even half of the references made in this book) if it doesn't resolve to anything besides, "I read a thing on the internet"???
