The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent

5.0

For lovers of a dark vampire world and the thrill of The Hunger Games

When I say I am so glad Booktok did not fail me... I am so glad!

The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent is one of the best fantasy books I've read in a while. I immediately fell into the world of Obitraes through her beautifully written and descriptive writing style. I could feel the tensions of political class amongst kingdoms of vampires as well as their clear difference from humans. The horror elements with the banter between Oraya and Raihn are honestly what made this book for me. Great plot, great characters, and an even greater twist towards the end. I will definitely be picking up the second book along with the novellas in the Crowns of Nyaxia series!
