If We Ever Meet Again by Ana Huang

4.0

My first Ana Huang book and won’t be my last.

A great romantic read with a not-so-happy ending.

Farrah and Blake meet during a year abroad in Shanghai for college. Their story is an absolute rollercoaster of emotion. From quick-whipped hatred towards Blake for being a ‘cliche’ to love and friendship, their story is full of cliches, but for me that was a good thing. Then Blake’s world is turned upside down and subsequently so is Farrah’s.

The cliches in this book gave me a smile on my face, its sweet romance was exactly what I wanted to read but that ending, I didn’t know I could love and hate a character all at once. To feel hatred for what a character does but then sympathy at the same time, a confusion of feelings which made this read all more fun for me.

I loved all of the characters in their own way, the whole FEA group had their own personalities which all were focused on throughout the book, it was great to have some side action happening.

Our FMC, Farrah was sweet, slightly innocent but also defiant in how she approached people. She knew who she was even when she questioned it, I loved that.

Our MMC, Blake, a typical ‘sports’ guy with the body to match but more brains than anyone gave credit for. A true treat to read about. I can’t believe he has kept such a secret all the way to the end!

As for the spice, there was more talk than action and any action was quick and short, a solid
