On the Road by Jack Kerouac
2.0

While I can imagine people loving this book and I can understand its huge influence on multiple generations, I enjoyed neither the form nor the content of On the Road. Maybe I should have read it when I was still at my early twenties although I can't see my daughter enjoying it either. Halfway through this, I came across Capote's famous criticizing statement about On the Road and decided to read something by him as well. So I started In Cold Blood and boy, am I regretting that decision! However, I will write about that separately once I succeed to finish the dragging book. Here it suffices to say that I am neither a Kerouac's fan nor a Capote's. I can't wait to start something more to my liking. I should add in the end that I listened to the audiobook read by Will Patton and his was a magnificent performance. It was the best part of the whole OTR experience for me. I will certainly try his other audioboos.
