Wow! I heard good things about this book, but I never would’ve thought it was this good had I not read it myself!
Without spoiling anything, this book is an adventure and perfectly written. Somehow words written on a paper have made me cry, fear, laugh, and stay up all night to read more and more. It’s amazing. Kuang did a brilliant job in allowing us to truly see inside the head of the main character, understand her flawed rationale, engage deeply with the dialogue that the book itself invokes, and somehow bring endless twists and turns that make various points about publishing, racism, cancel culture, and more.
I truly cannot recommend this book enough, but I wonder how different audiences would receive this book, too!
