Barefoot by Elin Hilderbrand

4.0

The library copy I read has seen better days, but I get it. This is a book you want to carry around with you to squeeze reading time in at every opportunity.

I really loved Vicki. Everything about her. The other characters, who were all really great in their own rights, even they made me love Vicki more; in the way that Vicki responded to or regarded them. She is a respectable, reliable, 100% in-your-corner friend that you can always count on. She never passes judgement on others, but holds herself to incredible standards. In this novel you follow this woman‘s journey through lung cancer.

Barefoot is an incredibly deep & moving summer read. It’s heavier than what I would normally consider a beach read personally, but my library is currently featuring “Beach Reads” which is where I picked this up & I’m glad I did!

This is a great book for discussion — I would have liked reading this with a group.
