Lady Tan's Circle of Women by Lisa See

4.0

I read Lady Tan's Circle of Women on a whim knowing nothing about it other than people really liked it and it was good East Asian historical fiction. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a rich narrative that managed to run the duration of the protagonists life without losing steam or continuity. This book *felt* rewarding, which is hard to do when you're painting one person's unique story so vividly, but I was still able to relate to many aspects. I loved the traditional Chinese medicines being respectfully rendered, and I loved the relationships the characters were able to forge using these recipes. I really enjoyed this book and absolutely reccomend it!

(4/5 = liked it)
