The Body Is Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love by Sonya Renee Taylor

challenging informative inspiring

5.0

this book is so many things wrapped into one - an exploration of fatphobia, a reckoning with radical self-love, a critique of the systems that have caused disdain for bodies that don’t fit the hetero-, cis-, white “normative.” the way we have been conditioned to believe the worth of a body is related to its ability to produce within our capitalist system. the possibility that radical self-love, understanding the privilege we posses, and ensuring we are creating space for all bodies, can help us see our way through to the other side
