Ace of Betrayal is the first book in this series and it’s a fun introduction to this group of high society friends. I have to say that this type of character is not my normal interest, but I found them interesting and I connected with Walker’s need to balance research and fun (reading for research while at the beach is absolutely like a tax write off!). I was not, however, a fan of their shared interests in revenge plots so I found that difficult to deal with while reading the rest of the narrative.
I loved the dynamic between Walker and Heath and kept mentally yelling at them to just talk to each other openly! I also like the hints at relationships the other characters are having with each other and others outside of the group that I’m hoping will be explored more in future books!
In general, this was a fun and sexy romance with some wonderful dissection of relationship by Walker’s mother thrown in! I enjoyed reading it and will be reading the sequel!
This review is my honest opinion of the book. Thank you to the author for providing a digital copy for me to read in advance of the publication date.

Graphic: Domestic abuse
There is prior cheating by the MMC (before the book begins) that is discussed in the book and cheating by another character connected to the FMC discussed but not “shown” formally in the book. Definitely read the trigger warnings before reading.
