Wow. Really phenomenal book.

The plot was captivating. I was dying to know what happened next. The ending was incredible as well. I never expected the person who was revealed as the murderer, and the final few pages... if you've read it you'll know exactly what I'm referring to. It was a shocker to say the least. Definitely a thriller filled with many shocking reveals.

The characters were so perfectly fucked up. A ton of morally grey characters (which I love), especially the main character Jessica. There were times where I related to her. Not to the extent of which she felt her feelings but a few things about her resonated with me

Who was this Mary Oliver, encouraging people to accept smallness, while in the meantime she was famous? While in the meantime she knew her life would be infinite- her thoughts and word repeated for hundreds of years. I wanted that. I wanted to become big enough, important enough, to never really die. Then I would never get trapped in a hole in the ground like my
Spoilerdad
, with no one around to care.


It kinda sucks that this paragraph that Jessica said resonates so much with me.

The other characters again were very interesting. I think their actions are believable too; especially when you learn about their upbringings.

I love the writing in this book as well. Always kept me engaged and I never once had a problem with the writing.

Will definitely be checking out this author's other books. Amazing debut.
