A solid start to this series. I can see myself picking up the next book just see where the story develops. I don't think it's the best or most well-written piece of literature, but it was hella entertaining.

The Vega sisters are foster kids just expelled from their last foster home when a man comes to tell them that they're actually heirs to the Fae throne and are now needing to return to the realm, attend school, and re-take their rightful place on the throne. They arrive and the world is violent towards them, hates them, and the Heirs who currently are on deck to rule want them gone. A bunch of strange magic and new magic principles are introduced as the world starts to build and we get to know about the magic system at play. Mystery and intrigue surrounds the twins as they attempt to sort out their place in the world.

The Heirs were crappy guys, but like kind of well-written for how rude they are to the twins. The magic system seems immense and just began to scratch the surface. I think I'll pick up book 2 to see how the story continues. 4/5 ⭐
