Definitely a weird book. At points I thought it was way too weird for me, and maybe that's still true but I found it strangely freeing in its weirdness. I liked the morally ambiguous characters which doesn't always work for me but I liked the actual ambiguity here. I loved the queer, magical realism and found family themes. There's something powerful in how the book portrays a marginalised community not as perfect or submissive but messy, joyful in their strangeness and ultimately an empowering force.

Certainly one I'd be careful who I recommend it to due to its weirdness!
