Message in a Bottle
by Nicholas Sparks
Every now and then, especially after a busy period of time, I tend to gravitate towards the easy-reads. One of the obvious choices for me at that moment is Nicholas Sparks. His books are all very similar and have the power to make me relax even in the most stressful of times. Definitely not literature, but most certainly my favourite guilty pleasure.
Message in a Bottle explains the story of Theresa who reminisces on her whirlwind relationship with Garrett. They met in an extraordinary way and had a very interesting and emotional relationship. The novel was very typically Nicholas Sparks, however the ending was unexpected. Usually everything works out in the end and they live happily ever after. This time not so much as apparently Garrett didn't live at all. Sorry for the spoiler!
