Crucible Zero by Devon Monk

5.0

I did it. I went to the store with a coupon and bought book 3 in the trilogy pretty much as son as I finished book 2. I did give myself a book in between, but this almost back-to-back with a series, let alone an author, is pretty unheard of for me. I am practically on a Monk bender. I make special dispensation for certain authors and certain of their books. Devon Monk and House Immortal trilogy is that exception.
Each book is superbly told. This time around, there's a different timeline. Matilda is thrown into an alternate universe/timeline with the same people, human and galvanized alike, but in different situations. The only two who are any kind of similar are Matilda and her nemesis. She has to kill him before he kills her and everyone she loves in the name of world domination.
Devon Monk is in the top of my favorite authors. I have never been disappointed in anything she's written. This is absolutely my favorite of her series/trilogies. I am sad it is at an end, but this is on the keeper shelf, so I can revisit Matilda and her world/s.
Definite recommend.
