Meet Me Halfway by Lilian T. James

First of all I really like the author and the message she conveys in the preface of the book.

So often we see heroines that have it all, are rich etc. But 30% of households are headed by single parents/women in the US. I enjoy that the author speaks to this underserved, under applauded demographic.

I'm not liking some of the things the main character is doing. I don't get why she's martyring herself when she has perfectly good parents willing to support her. She's sacrificing time with her kid and giving him opportunities for what? Pride? Not adding up here and its' a really poor message. Also, I don't get the 4 associate's degrees either? Why not get the bachlors?

Also like her kid is worried about money and I'm not getting why she's not asking for help from her parents. Again doing more harm than good.
