The Monkey Wrench Gang by Edward Abbey
2.0
2.5 / 5 I really wanted to like this book. I wanted it to inspire me as it has inspired so many others. It just didn’t.
It’s funny, sometimes. It has moments of brilliance, sometimes. At the end of the day, I couldn’t get past the fact that all of these characters were so unlikeable and had such a complete disregard for actually saving the environment (I know that was kind of the point, but the irony didn’t do the message any favors). If I’d liked a couple of these characters even a little bit, I could have enjoyed this more, but I found every one of them to be so annoying!
If environmental activism strikes me, it won’t be because of this book.
